When I installed 8.3 and chose the update libraries option it started
the IDE and at that point added a new copy of the icon to the dock.

I dragged the old icon to the trash and selected "keep in dock" for
the new one, and have since emptied the trash so I can't get any more
information now.

The previous icon was there because I'd picked "keep in dock" at some
earlier time, but I've no idea how I'd launched the app when I made
that pick (not that I'd expect it to have any effect).
