This is a minor fix of the IDE (keybindings) and Altvec Registers for the
debugger and MSL C++ fixes.

Here are the release notes.

========================================================================
Metrowerks MetroNub Plugin Pro 6.1 Update
========================================================================

Version:  v4.1 Build 0647
Date:     Jan 2, 2001
Author:   ratwell

NOTE: Please read the caveats section at the end before installing any
components.

========================================================================
What's new since MetroNub Plugin v4.1 Build 0620 (Pro 6)
========================================================================

* Several developers have reported a problem with the AltiVec register
window after Pro 6 was released but reports have not been widespread.

After investigating we discovered that some of the remote connection
improvements made to the MetroNub Plugin in the last release broke the
AltiVec register window but only under difficult to reproduce
conditions.

When you start debugging, the AltiVec register window usuall displays
0x7FFFDEAD... in each register. When the problem occurs values in
registers are crud and seem to change at random as you step through your
code.

The problem only manifests itself if you reboot your machine and debug any
project after launching the IDE for the first time. If you quit and
re-launch the IDE the problem will go away until you reboot and use the
IDE again to debug.

The workaround has been to debug any project, then quit the IDE and
restart your debugging session. If you happened to perform this action
before debugging your first AltiVec project and have gone a while since
rebooting you may not have experienced the bug at all.

This release corrects this single problem and in all other respects the
MetroNub Plugin is identical to the version that shipped with Pro 6.

Ron, I'm a little confused. You posted this to the Windows group as
well as to two Mac groups, but clearly Altvec registers are a PowerPC
specific feature and have nothing to do with x86.

So specifically which version(s) of CW Pro 6 is this for, Mac,
Windows, or both?

I can't run the updater. It says it can't find a valid 6.0 CodeWarrior for
Windows. FYI - I have CodeWarrior for Java. This is frustrating. I really
need this update.

The update release notes have more than MetroNub -- if you look further
down, you'll see IDE and MSL notes.

Also, you could be remote debugging a Mac program controlled on a Windows
desktop, so Altivec would be important then (assuming Win2Mac debugging
works -- I'm not so sure).

There are updates for both versions.

Excellent job!

Sigh.  The annoyance doesn't end.

OK, so now I can finally configure key bindings again without the IDE
crashing on me; thanks. But now the IDE no longer remembers the
auto-repeat flag for scroll-line-up and scroll-line-down. This is very
annoying.

Open "Commands & Key Bindings".

Expand the "Editor Commands" section.

Find the item "Scroll line up".

Assign a key binding to it (mine is ctrl-shift-up), and turn on the
"Auto Repeat" checkbox.

Click "Save", and close the dialog.

Quit the IDE and launch it again. The Auto-Repeat flag for "Scroll line
up" is now off.

I haven't found any other commands yet except "Scroll line up" and
"Scroll line down" for which this happens.

This worked for me, perhaps it has to do with the German Keyboard,
please submit this as a bug. Be sure to include all information on your
system.

I see on their web site that there is a download for CodeWarrior Pro 6.1
Update Installer and a download for CW Java 6.1 Update Installer. So maybe
you need the second download.

My question is, if I have the CW Pro 6 with C++ and Java support, do I just
need to use CodeWarrior Pro 6.1 Update Installer or do I run both
installers?

You just need the Pro installer.

Essentially, the only difference between the two installers is that the Java
installer gives you a new IDE. The Pro installer gives you a new IDE and
also a new MSL.

Well not an entirely new MSL.... only bits of the C++ one.
The C lib still does not have the fix for the issue I reported wrt
