Why will it take 3 weeks? When I ordered it over the phone in August, the
fellow said I would have it in about 5 days after it shipped.

"Within three weeks" is not inconsistent with something like "most will
have it within 5 days." There is *always* a long tail of delayed
deliveries in these mass shipments. The carrier uses the boxes as wheel
chocks, or whatever. Customs delays one sack out of 10, etc.

Three weeks gets them to the part of the tail in which it is rather
likely that a package was lost rather than delayed, and needs to be
dealt with. And at the same time, three weeks gets them to the part of
the tail in which the mis-addressed ones have returned and been sorted
out.

International orders take longer and it is not all shipped on the same day
(for most people it will not ship until next week). Also there may be
unexpected delays.

More importantly, if I tell people not to expect it for up to 3 weeks,
and it is late no one complains. If I tell people they will have it in a
week and it takes 8 days I get thousands of letters :)

Ditto. I ordered yesterday (9/15) in response to a solicitation call
from MW. I was told it _should_ be here in a week and if it wasn't in
my hands by the end of September something was really wrong. I can't
imagine people who ordered ahead of time get it later...or are you
including a couple of standard deviations in your "should."

I don't see any mention of Pascal support. Are there any updates as to
when this will be available?

At the WWDC Metrowerks apologized for not delivering on the promised
PowerPC Carbon Pascal update. However Metrowerks did announce that they
would be producing a standalone Pascal CD that will bring Pascal up to
Carbon level. This standalone CD will be made available free to any
CodeWarrior 5 or CodeWarrior 6 owner. I do not know if it will be
available alone or just with a full CodeWarrior purchase.

I've reported here and on the Mac Pascal programmers list server that we
had began this work. I don't however have any dates or anything that I
can report. I will post notes here and on the Mac Pascal programmers list
server when I have more information.

Don't really need a specific date, but it would be useful to know if we
talking weeks, months, quarters or years until the Pascal support in
available again.

I can't give you any timeline. If I say this year, and I'm wrong it is
another broken promise. As soon as I have any kind of estimate I'll let
everyone know.

And this disk of carbon pascal tools will be free to registered owners of
6.0 correct? I don't really mind, because I don't use pascal, but I know
several folks who do might be concerned if there was an additional price
attached.

Cheers;
Seths

It will be free to registered owners of CodeWarrior 5 or CodeWarrior 6.
A lot of people updated to CW 5 expecting and update which we did not
provide.

If you purchased after July 24th you need to register and to send in a
copy of your sales receipt but you do qualify for an automatic update.

Write me if you need more details I believe the url is

<http://www.codewarrior.com/go/buynow>

Sorry for the delay I was out of town.

The reason the promotion ended was that CodeWarrior 6 was out, and you
should have gotten that. Yes you qualify if you are in the USA. Fax a
copy of your sales receipt (512) 997-4901 then call our 800 number and
they should be able to set you up. 1-800-377-5416 and they should be able
to help you.

Metrowerks business hours are (CST):
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM.

I also bought about a month ago. I didn't find out about the promotion
until late in the game.

I actually placed my order online Sept 30. The problem is Sept 30 was a
Saturday so my order didn't get processed until Monday the 2nd.

I have a hardcopy of the order confirmation (in PS as well) that I
printed right after ordering.

Can I still get the upgrade to CW Pro 6?

Thanks, Jim
