Metrowerks Releases New CodeWarrior Tools For Windows and Cross-Platform
Development

AUSTIN, Texas- October 15, 2001- Metrowerks has announced the
availability of CodeWarrior for Windows, Version 7.0, software
development tools. These tools allow developers to build applications
that target Windows and Macintosh platforms using a single integrated
development environment (IDE).

CodeWarrior for Windows development tools allow developers to write
their applications in C/C++ and Java( programming languages. The
CodeWarrior IDE includes a sophisticated project manager and build
system, text editor, C/C++ and Java( technology compilers, linkers,
debuggers, and class browser. The IDE also includes visual drag and drop
RAD tools (Rapid Application Development) for Java( technology that
automatically generate code when the developer creates a design. In
addition, CodeWarrior tools are fully customizable, and the CodeWarrior
C++ compiler's strict compliance with ANSI/ISO standards has been made
even more stringent.

Developers new to the CodeWarrior IDE may take advantage of the built-in
multimedia and programming tutorials included in the CodeWarrior for
Windows product. The tutorials teach a user how to navigate through the
IDE, as well as how to program in C/C++ and Java( programming languages.

"Metrowerks is committed to providing developers with the most stable
and comprehensive tools to build leading-edge applications that target
Windows, Classic Mac OS, Mac OS X, and other operating systems within
one, tightly integrated environment," said Andy Mastronardi, director of
desktop and academic marketing, Metrowerks.

Metrowerks is also shipping a dual-platform product, CodeWarrior for Mac
OS and Windows, Version 7.0, for both professional and academic users.
The dual-platform product gives users all the capabilities of each of
the stand-alone CodeWarrior for Windows and CodeWarrior for Mac OS
products. It is ideal for academic institutions that host more than one
operating system in their computer labs.

It would be really nice if the website had more screen shots and
tutorials illustrating the capabilities. Especially for a RAD tool,
having screen shots on the website would enhance the marketing.

Sincerely,

There is one for the Java RAD tools

http://www.metrowerks.com/desktop/RAD/

There are really no other RAD tools other than the RAD browser. It is
like the VC++ class wizzard but more functional and less glitzy.
