Hi Folks
I will be on vacation until the middle of July, I will only have e-mail
access a few days during these next two weeks.
Marketing does have a road map for CodeWarrior for Mac OS however not
all the i's have been dotted or the t's crossed and there are partners
we will consult with. I have asked Marketing to hold off presenting
this road map until I return so if there are any questions they can be
answered promptly.
I'm assuming we will announce the road map at the AdHoc conference.
I just didn't want you to worry if you didn't hear from me :)
You know there is a Hot Air Balloon Fesitival in Battle Creek Michigan
this weekend. If you aren't looking up, you might see me there.
Oh and Red Bud is Sunday, for sure I'll be there.
Ron

> Marketing does have a road map for CodeWarrior for Mac OS That's nice. Does engineering have a roadmap? In particular, does it have one that doesn't have a "Bridge collapsed ahead" sign on it? :-) > however not all the i's have been dotted or the t's crossed and there are > partners we will consult with. I have asked Marketing to hold off presenting > this road map until I return Did you have to twist their arm? LOL > so if there are any questions they can be answered promptly. Of course there's a question: Is MW going to resume active development of CW, and in particular, have a future release that generates x86 binaries? And of course it's too late to answer it promptly, but we'd still like to hear the answer. FWIW, I dare say no one cares about marketing's roadmap (well, okay, I'm sure marketing cares ;-). We want to know if engineering has a roadmap. > I'm assuming we will announce the road map at the AdHoc conference. Assumptions are evil. Of course sometimes they're valid. I assumed we wouldn't see a roadmap before you left for vacation. ;-) > I just didn't want you to worry if you didn't hear from me :) Okay, we won't worry. You've told us you assume we get a roadmap. What more could we ask than a assumption that we'll get a roadmap? LOL > You know there is a Hot Air Balloon Fesitival in Battle Creek Michigan > this weekend. No, no, this is too easy. I just can't. ROFLMAO > If you aren't looking up, you might see me there. Make it interesting. Take a parachute and jump out. ;-) Larry

What, you want me to loan him *my* parachute? ;-) FYI, balloon and helicopter jumps are the only skydives in which you ever feel like you're falling, because those are the only ways to start a skydive in still air. I know if *I* were going up in a balloon I'd much rather jump out of it than land with it (how boring). Actually, there's no way you'd get me in a hot air balloon *without* a parachute. I believe I know exactly what he meant, and it was definitely not as unkind as you seem to suppose. In the circumstances, a little gentle ribbing should certainly do no harm. Alwyn

Ron fed him about as good a straight line as you're going to get...

Nah, it was just windy. LOL When you jump out of a plane you basically start your dive at about 80mph into the wind in the direction the plane is going, and over the course of the next several seconds that speed gradually increases to 115-120mph and your movement through the air transitions to vertical (i.e, you accelerate as you move through an arc). You never experience the full feeling of falling because there's always significant resistance from the air. But if you jump from a balloon or a helicopter, you start out in still air--no air resistance--initially and as a result feel a much greater sense of falling at the beginning of the jump than when jumping from a plane. In any case, you still won't see me 4000' up in an open box without my parachute. ;-) Larry

Well, there's releasing yourself from a tandem paraglider, too. You're not *perfectly* still, but close enough as to feel no difference.

Well technically, you normally jump *out* of the plane (although it's a lot of fun just to hang on the outside and just let go ;-), but if you really want to know, try it and find out. As I've heard it said: Those that do can't explain. Those that don't can't understand. and If riding in an airplane is flying, then riding in a boat is swimming. Actually, the love of falling is very common. People just don't normally fall very far. Kids jump on beds and off rocks, people jump off diving boards, on trampolines, onto haystacks and so on. Skydiving just gives you the most time and the best view. ;-) Larry

I did open myself up for this. thanks for the self constraint. :)
I did ride in a hot air balloon a few years ago but not this year.
Last year the Army's parachute teams jumped out of hot air balloons
that was cool. Actually you have to just start falling before someone
jumps out of a hot air balloon or the loss of weight will pop it up at
a very rapid rate very high up (considering they are already high up to
begin with).
Most parachuting tragedies happen in the airplane's takeoff since they
tend to overload them.
Back on Vacation goiing to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Next the
Cedar Point.
