Can't recompile headers to go to 8.3?

I am running Mac OS X 10.2.4. I installed CW 8.0 from the release CDs. I then ran the 8.2 updater, followed by the 8.3 updater. The 8.3 updater asked if I wanted the BuildLibraries.mcp opened, and I said yes. When it was opened, I did a Make. There were over 6000 error messages on the first one (MacOSPPC.mcp) and over 3000 on the second (MacOSX.mcp) before I stopped it. The critical ones are of the variety: the file 'Carbon/Carbon.h' cannot be opened the file 'Cocoa/Cocoa.h' cannot be opened the file 'pthread.h' cannot be opened zillions of other errors that seem to stem from these. Looking at the setting, I see that the user path for these default projects is (Project) and the System Path is (Compiler), as I would expect. I find Carbon.h at: Applications->metrowerks CodeWarrior 8.0->Metrowerks Codewarrior->MacOS support->Universal->Interfaces->Cincludes->Carbon.h So... why can't CW find it? Any idea how to fix this and move forward? -- - Burt Johnson MindStorm, Inc. http://www.mindstorm-inc.com/software.html

In order to debug or rebuild libraries on OS X you also need to go to
the Apple Developers Connection
http://www.apple.com/developer/
and download either the
April 2002 Developers Tools for OS X 10.1.x
or
December 2002 Developers tools for OS X 10.2.x
The versions of gdb that came with OS X CD's have a bug that prevents
them from working with CodeWarrior.
If you are not a member of the Apple Developers Connection you must
register to download the software. This is a free process and is
probably something you should do if you are developing on a Mac in any
way.

The December version is downloading now in the background (all 330MB of it!). I forgot that this is a new machine on which I had to do a virgin X install last month. In doing so, I lost the earlier install of the Developer Tools I had done. > > The versions of gdb that came with OS X CD's have a bug that prevents > them from working with CodeWarrior. Not completely sure what you are saying here. Are you saying that the Developer Tools will fix this, or that I will still have something else to do special to get around this problem? -- - Burt Johnson MindStorm, Inc. http://www.mindstorm-inc.com/software.html

The August or December versions correct the problem. The July version
that is on the CD's is the one that doesn't work.
