I highly recommend "Macintosh C Programming Primer: " Volumes I and II, by Dave Mark and Cartwright Reed. You can find the source code for volume I available for anonymous ftp at ftp.u.washington.edu/public/DaveMark. I hear good things about Dan Parks Sydow's books, too, but I haven't bought any of his, yet, so I can't comment on their usefulness. Scott Knaster wrote some really good books, but my editions are strictly Pascal-oriented. You can make the shift easily enough if you have a background in both languages, so I would recommend them for getting a grounding in the Macintosh. Lawson English, Russell Mirabelli, and Nicholas DeMello were building a bibliography of Macintosh programming books, maybe they are ready to publish it?
