Any Mac programmers out there interested in travelling to Perth?

As part of a study of human lactation here at UWA, we have a AV Power Mac
based striped light system for doing noncontact three dimensional
measurement of biological shape (in particular breasts) and
visualisation/analysis of the measured data. The measurement part of this
system has been ported from a DOS original to UNIX, and also to Power Mac
by students and staff in the Department of Computer Science. The
visualisation component has been written (by me) using Powerplant. The
two parts communicate via Apple Events. A version to work on a PowerPC
notebook is waiting only on a PCMCIA video grabber card.

We have a number of extensions we would like done to this system, and are
therefore looking for a programmer willing to become involved in this
project. These extensions involve combining multiple images (e.g. data
measured from three different viewpoints), enhancing the visualisation
(and maybe converting to Quickdraw 3D), possibilities for volume
visualisation (thermal data to be incorporated), as well as general human
interface construction and improvement.

This project provides both interesting and challenging programming and
science. If you would like any more details, please email me at
ken@cwr.uwa.edu.au, or A. Prof. Robyn Owens at robyn@cs.uwa.edu.au.
