Well Mathematica 2.2 on my Macintosh will read AIFF sound files and you
can then manipulate them. It will certainly do FFTs so this should be
straightforward, but expensive if you don't already own Mma. You could
also output the data to an ascii file. One needs a program that converts
SND files to AIFF, the latest freeware version of SoundApp will do this.
