Words of warning on the outbound:
My girlfriend has one, and I've used it extensively. Outbound's
support is quite good so far, and there's been only on bug, which was
fixed with software very quickly.
	BUT

For me, I find it uncomfortable to use. I prefer the keyboard
placement of the Powerbook, with the wrist-rest. For >1/2 hour of use, I
felt much more comfortable with the PB (my advisor has a PB170).
The Outbound's "cursor-bar" is awkward, in my opinion. PB's track-
ball beats it hands down, I think. Girlfriend says she got used to it after
a couple days. You decide.
The Outbound's screen can't get bright enough for me, and more
importantly, has moderate to severe ghosting. Again, I found it annoying
over prolonged use. The PB170's active-matrix screen is beautiful, just
like a Mac+'s. I have not used the other PB screen.

Personally, I'd save up the extra $ and get a PowerBook. But
I *can* reccommend the staff at Outbound. They've responded to queries
quickly and honestly, and I respect that, even when the answer isn't what
you want (i.e. there is no current or planned support for driving a color
external monitor).

	Hope this helps.
