Ok, today we tried a utility called DesktopReset. The archive for this only
has a system extention in it. We copied this to the extensions folder and
rebooted the machine and nothing happened. I suspect we are supposed to do
something to activate it but the archive contained no documentation.

We just got DiskFirstAif 7.1 and will try it in a little while. If anyone
knows anything about DesktopReset please let me know.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Many people have suggested obvious
solutions (which I admit I had left off the list I posted of things we tried)
such as the OPTION key method, turning off file sharing and unlocking the
file with the Get Info option in the file menu.

Thanks everyone who has attempted to help so far!

Please send any more ideas or comments via Email to:
