The ab$olute high end comes from people who's names you don't hear outside of obscure audiophile magazines and stores that shuffle speakers into and out of listening rooms for you. <(one of my friends dropped 5 grand on one). $5000 is about right for a system of McIntosh components, possibly with speakers. $5000 is what you expect to pay *per component* for the good stuff. Speakers will be expensive, though. Me, until I can afford to build a house with a room for good audio gear, I stay with the mid-high stuff. <mike -- It's been a hard day's night, Mike Meyer And I been working like a dog. mwm@berkeley.edu It's been a hard day's night, ucbvax!mwm I should be sleeping like a log. mwm@ucbjade.BITNET
