A colleague of mine is involved in restructuring government nursery
services.  He is a MacFanatic and is keen that the nurseries use Macs
for inventory & stock control as well as the obvious uses.

He envisages each nursery having a few Macs and a LaserWriter with
appropriate software for managing stocks of plants through all stages
from propagation to sales.  Bar code labels could be printed by the LW,
and each nursery would also need a portable bar-code reader.

The problem is that he has not been able to find any trace of suitable
software for Macs for this work, including the bar code writing and
interface with the portable reader.

A couple of months ago someone posted a bar code generating DA.  Does
that person know of any software that might help us?
