Please excuse me if I am way out of line here, but isn't this question from D.
Quarles a bit "picky?"

I don't have a policy statement in front of me regarding posting to "the new
products newsgroup," nor to comp.sys.mac, but it seems to me that the article
in question was a lot closer to "rumor" than to a formal product announcement
(read press release) direct from the manufacturer.

I for one sure find it interesting to read about speculation and rumors of new
Macintosh products. It seems to me that this sort of thing has a place on
comp.sys.mac. On the other hand, I would certainly advocate the placement of
formal product announcements elsewhere. I'd rather not have to sift through a
new product newsgroup to find the latest "gossip" about the Mac.

Again, if I'm out of line, let me know and I'll shut up. I trust the same
holds true for David Quarles.
