Preventing Imagewriter paper jams?

Hey, there, happy programmers,

Does anybody know of or think they might in the near future
write an INIT or CDEV that would automatically roll the paper in an
ImageWriter II back far enough to avoid the nasty curly paper crunching?

There's an FKEY (called "ImageWriter Load/Unload FKEY," I think)
that lets you do it manually, but I always forget to unload after I
print, thereby setting myself up for the next failure.

This handy INIT/CDEV would assume that the paper was UNloaded at
boot-up, load it when a print command is received, and unload it again
after printing was finished.

I would appreciate any post/email/whatever that turns up something
like this. Thanks (as usual) in advance.
