ScrollMBar crashes my system

The ScrollMbar init (which will scroll the menu bar if it is too wide to fit on 
the Macintosh screen) recently down loaded from comp.binaries.mac and 
archived at sumex-aim crashes my system.  I have a MacSE running System 
6.0.2. The crashes (ID 02) occurs while running MS Word 3.02 when I try to 
use the WordFinder DA (version 2.0M). This occurs under the Finder and 
under MultiFinder 6.0.1 (under MultiFinder the crash is graceful i.e. "the 
application unexpectedly quite 02."). Also under multifinder the program 
title which appears on the menue bar at startup under the finder is 
scrambled.
