Connecting cartridge tape drives

Does anyone out there have any experience connecting a SCSI cartridge
tape drive (such as an Archive) to a Mac? I need to know about cabling
(both power and bus) and about driver and software support.

Backing up to floppies is getting to be too much and commercial Mac
tape units are too expensive, so I'm looking at alternatives.
