well, i attempted to post a short note a week or so ago about this, but somehow
it didn't show up, in it i had said how nice my cms's (two 60megs) have been t
o me, running great for some time now (24hrs, 7days a week on a bbs). well, i s
houldn't have said anything, i guess this is probably covered in murphy's laws.
.. dont praise something, it'll break. well, one of the cms's has been acting b
ad, and... while backing one up (copying files to the other, then back after re
initializing it)... it died (well, kinda). the mac had a REALLY strange crash,
it hung in the middle of copying (from the messed up disk), and then after thre
e or so seconds the screen flashed white with garbage all over it, and then ano
ther screwed up screen flashed up, and the speaker blared out some rather odd o
dd sounds. this happened about three four times, three times it rebooted by its
elf, i had to reboot it once. well, i gave up, got out the old cms utilities di
sk, and reformatted and initialized it. i'm glad i still have older backups of
the backup :) if i find any more problems, i'll post... but till then, hopefull
y i'll be running strong on both drives.
