I have been trying to use the ftp anonymous directory of GIF
pictures at hubcap.clemson.edu.

I have fetched the pictures with ftp (I have tried text and binary).
I have then downloaded them with mac KERMIT (both text and binary).
WHen I tell either GIF Converter or Visionlab to read the files,
I get an LZW error (usually -- bad link field).

I am looking for some help isolating the problem.  Has anybody else
downloaded files from this archive successfully?

I have tried sending e-mail to both address in the 00readme file
on hubcap.  Something must have eaten either the mail or (presumably)
their response, since several weeks have passed.

Any suggestions?
