I've actually heard of some bizarre requests for exorcism from owners of SE/30s with internal hard drives. I'm not quite sure what the problem is though-- but the symptoms are the same as you describe. As far as Illustrator is concerned, I think that it's not compatible with the 68030 chip in the SE/30 (or Mac IIcx) either, or maybe some of the new graphics calls. In any case, you apparently have to call Adobe for an upgrade to get Illustrator to work with your SE/30. Hope this helps, Brita Meng
