Problem with speaker

I've been having a problem with my Mac II's speaker lately.  Ever since 
we got it back from servicing, the sounds coming from it have been 
staticy (you know, noisy).  I have no idea what the problem is, it could 
be something in the way, but before I resort to taking it back in 
(another $30 for just LOOKING at it), I'd like to see if anybody has any 
ideas.  Thanks in advance.
