I'm not exactly crazy about multifinder's context switching either, but I definitely DON'T like the way Windows handles its menus either. To put them inside each document's window not only takes up extra screen space (a valuable commodity on Compact Macs), but is confusing when there are multiple windows place in certain positions on the screen. What I DO like is Virex's method of doing something like this. It combines the ideas of each-window-gets-its-own-menus, and the hierDA-type ideas: in the upper lefthand corner of the window, below the titlebar, is a dog-ear (much like the Notepad's dogear, but smaller). Clicking on this shows a menu con-\ taining the items of the menubar, along with hierarchical menus at each one containing the menu items. This setup worked very well for me. Anyone else? Jeff
