I need a public domain hard disk optimizer. Is there such a beast? We have a few Macs at AFIT which are avaliable for student use. So far there has been no need to restrict students from using the hard disks to "temporarily" store their files. We are now experiencing unacceptable slow-downs in disk performance, presumable from file fragmentation. Thus far I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to acquire a commercial disk optimizer and disk partitioning software. I have also checked the 00util-abstracts.abs at sumex and found nothing in the way of a disk optimizer. Is anyone aware of a freeware/shareware optimization utility? I just can't quite see my way to paying for a commercial product out of my own pocket? Any suggestions would be welcomed. Bob Pugh rpugh@galaxy.afit.af.mil
