Multifinder problem running from finder (endless loop)

Here's a weird one...when I try to run multifinder from the finder by either
command-option-double clicking it or by using a launcher, it goes into a loop
where it appears to be reloading and executing multifinder endlessly. The only
way to stop it is to reboot. If I boot with multifinder it works fine.

I am running system 6.0.4 on a Mac II with five megs RAM, PMMU, Orchid macsprint
card, 40 meg HD. The multifinder that came with 6.0.4 does this, and so does
multifinder 6.1b7. I am running tons of inits, but the problem occurs even when
they are all off.

Thanks,
Thomas Summerall
