I hate to ask this, because I'm sure it has been posted before, but I can't find a good description anywhere: Just exactly how does the system look at Fonts? In other words, where and in what resources are the font names and what restrictions apply to their handling. How does this apply to Fonts, FONDs, NFNTs, and postscript screen and printer font versions. I am asking this with respect to two specific problems. In trying to create a new font by modifying and old one what do I have to do to give it a valid ID number and name? Second, for some reason a user here wants to change a Postscript font's name. When he did with ResEdit two fonts showed up in his font menu, the old name and the new one. What's going on and what needs to be changed? If there is a tech note that explains all this just give me a reference. Thanks a lot... Thomas Summerall
