Partitioning a HD

Does anyone know of a good utility for partitioning a hard disk? I have seen
something offered from SUM, but it appears that the method it uses to
partition is to simply write a file to the disk of the requested size and then
to mangage the partition on its own (rather sloppily).

What I would prefer is something that uses the partition map defined in the
boot blocks of a SCSI drive. Suggestions can be sent via email, I will
summarize if there is a need.
