I don't know what your problem is.  There were some formatting problems
of this type in version 3.0, but in 3.01 they were fixed.

Try holding down the shift key and selecting Re-paginate with the mouse.

If the document could have become corrupt somehow, do a Save As... and 
click the formats button and select InterChange format.  This will save the
document in RTF (Rich Text Format).  Re-open the saved document and click
yes when your asked to interpret RTF.
