The latest MacWeek has Gassee's quote for the Mac SE to Mac SE/30 upgrade:

        Logic board upgrade:            $1,699
        SuperDrive upgrade:             $  499

Available end of March.

Speaking as someone with a SEx, if I were upgrading I'd skip the SuperDrive.
I have no use for IBM file importing, and an extra 600K on a floppy isn't
much help, since the drives aren't any faster. I use floppies soley for
moving software from one machine to another, and with StuffIt and other
programs capable of compressing/splitting files, high-capacity floppies with
standard floppy speed aren't a thrill -- especially given what the floppies
cost. I'm planning to buy five and use them for alternate startup disks,
and that's it...

                           "Daddy, Daddy, make
                            Santa Claus go away!"
                                               "I can't, son;
                                                he's grown too
                                                powerful."
                                                             "HO HO HO!"
