Multisync monitor on MAC ?

Mac gurus,

System - MAC IIcx 8/80 high res mono card and 12/13" screen

Two questions:

1. Is there any inbuilt capability in the IIcx to connect a colour screen or do I *have* to have a display card ?

2. Can someone out there tell me whether I can connect a colour monitor - other
than the rather pricey 14" apple version to my IIcx 8M/80 ?

Someone told me that I should be able to connect a multisync to it as long as I
can find the card to drive it..

Any help appreciated.
