Gantt,

I(we) have a Gateway 2000 486DX2/50 EISA (not ISA and not 66mHz) but it comes
with 128KB direct mapped cashe. The manual shows how it can be easily
upgraded to a 256KB two-way set associative cache system. On my system board
you need the following:

	One 128K SRAM SIMM module
Two tag SRAMs (28 ppin DIP IC)
One LRU SRAM (28 ppin DIP IC)

no setting of switches and/or jumpers.
Again, this is for the Gateway 2000 486DX2/50 EISA using Intel's 82350
EISA chipset.

I suggest if you're gonna do something like that, wait til *your* sales
rep returns after the holiday.

Hope this helps.
