I am looking for an Email discussion list which supports persons interested in building their own micro computers. I am particularly interested in getting information about component sources and being able to discuss the merits of different motherboards, etc. If you know of such a discussion list please advise, including email address for subscribing. Having looked at the market I am convinced that I could build my own PC by buying off the shelf boards, drives, case, etc. and save a significant amount of money (or have more PC for the same money). Also, if I "roll my own" I believe that I will be in a better position to upgrade it when such things as the P5 chip and a 64 bit, high speed bus come along. The PC that I would like to have would be used to run AutoCAD 12 and 3D Studio, as well as the usual gamut of word processor/spreedsheat/etc. Some of the features I intend to have are EISA bus, VL bus, tower case, big SCSI drive, big power supply, CD ROM drive, etc., etc. If I am not successful in locating a discussion list which deals with building my own PC then I would be interested in starting one. If you would be interested in subscribing to such a list please let me know. I will give a week or so for all to respond and then I will summarize the responses to this list. Thanks for your interest. ---------------=========================---------------- A. M. (Tony) Cichan TONYC@YORKVM2.BITNET NO new taxes! Department of Facilities Planning and Management NO new debt!
