Hello

I have some problems using Mathematica for operator calculations in
quantum mechanics. So far I tried to use the non-commutative
multiplication to find expressions for complicated formula containing
operators. I do not want the mathematica program to evaluate any
commutators but rather preserving the order of operators.
The program appears not to use all possible simplifications that
are possible for terms containing non-commutative multiplications.
Also the Expand and Distribute command do not work sufficiently.

If this problem cannot be solved using mathematica but another
mathematical program ( Maple ?) would you please let me know.

If possible I would prefer to get any suggestions via e-mail.
My address : p90175@cplab.ph.ed.ac.uk

Cheers Martin , Joerg
