Hi Folks:

 The guy who wrote the nasty post about the usability of the Newton got 
my attention.

 Is there any software out that will allow me to transfer word processing 
files from an MP130 to my IBM via Windows (preferably - the Wordperfect 
software) or DOS?  I really want to use a Newton MP as a small laptop 
word processor (with the optional keyboard).  Writing long notes and 
papers on the MP won't help me if I can't eventually get them 
transfered to my files on my IBM.  Do any of you have any suggestions?

 I called Apple's help line and they said that they are working on such a 
software, and that it MIGHT be out within a year.  They also suggested to 
check with Landware about a program called X-Port which might do this.  
Does anyone have any experience with X-Port or a similar program?  

 Again, I really wan't to purchase the MP130, but can't if it won't allow 
me to transfer my word-processing files to my IBM clone.  

 Also, it would be nice to update my calendar with the one on my IBM.  
There is a program from Landscape called Synch+ 1.0 which is supposed to 
do this.  Does this program work well? (It requires Microsoft's Schedule 
Plus as well).


 In the event that the MP 130 doesn't do what I need, I may look at a PDA 
called the Palmbook made by Prolinear which is actually a mini-386 - at 
least this will transfer files!
