Newton is a fairly new interface and although the Mac suffers from some outdated elements, it is still a fantastic interface. Apple is also very good at making daring products, but mostly nicely innovative ones. Apple's customer service is inconsistant. I have some friends with faulty Powerbooks. Some have been treated well, others the complete opposite. Apple's quality, though overall good, is very poor for some products (like the Powerbooks). There have been some problems with some of their AppleVision monitors and Style Writer printers. The Newtons have been reliable from what I can tell. The new OS is solid, except for some of the crytic error messages, it is stable. I just want to see Apple get agressive at liscensing the Newt and I'm so glad to hear that a new one is due by Christmas. I just hope that they don't slip. But, I prefer that they do if the product is not ready. I don't want another Powerbook fiasco for the Newt.
