I'm not demanding anything -- I'm merely stating that 1) Shareware is
not profitable -- that's why you get zillions of whining shareware
authors who are shocked that the money isn't rolling in. and 2) In the
more civilized UNIX world shareware is considered to be in bad taste,
and freeware is plentiful. Consider Sanjay's Mahjongg program. I'm
aware of three UNIX versions of the game -- all of them
free.

>Can you write programming code?

Yes. I can (and do). And if you were more familar with the UNIX world, you
might actually have used programs that I have helped to write (they
are freeware, of course) If and when I complete a Newton program, it
will be freeware too.

But wouldn't it be better if they were freeware solutions?

>Just another bad apple asking for a freebie.

No. I just believe that people ought to help out society a
little. Volunteer at hospitals, public television stations, write
freeware, etc. I'm not demanding that other people do this -- merely
that it would be nice if everyone did their part for society in their
spare time.

In your case, I would consider it a badge of honor.
