Tucson, Arizona - October 7, 1992. Pinnacle Research announced today the release of version 2.6 of Cheapskate Software's virtual window manager, VirtSpace. VirtSpace allows you to expand your available screen area by creating a "Virtual Workspace" which is larger than the area displayed on the MegaPixel Display. Windows can be placed anywhere in the Virtual Workspace and users can select any portion of the Virtual Workspace to be visible using simple mouse and keypad commands. In addition to the standard screen and window movement, VirtSpace 2.6 offers a scalable view of the Virtual Workspace, full support of the defaults database, drag and drop colors to "tag" windows, keyboard movement support, automatic screen updating, "sticky" windows, improved support for multiple screens (i.e., NeXT Dimension systems), use of the keypad as a "grid" to jump directly to different regions, and more. The most innovative and useful feature is auto-scrolling. With this feature the user merely has to drag the mouse to the edge of the screen to move to a different area of the Virtual Workspace. "The auto-scrolling feature of VirtSpace makes navigating the Virtual Workspace is completely transparent - just drag the mouse in the direction you want to go and you're there!" - Ralph Zazula / President, Pinnacle Research, Inc. A demo copy of VirtSpace can be obtained from sonata.cc.purdue.edu in /pub/next/2.0-release/Demos, and many other popular archive sites. The demo version version supports all of the features, but it does not save or load defaults and it runs for a limited time (approximately 20 minutes). Current VirtSpace owners can download the demo version and activate it with their existing license key. Version 2.6 of VirtSpace is being distributed by Pinnacle Research for a ridiculously low price! Ordering information and prices can be obtained from the Help window in VirtSpace (under "Demo Mode"), or from: Pinnacle Research, Inc. 4725 E.
