I am currently using an Intel 486DX CPU for desktop publishing
and general telecommunications.

Could someone please explain the main purpose of the NeXT machines,
and their advantages over other machines?  Additionally, I would
appreciate if someone could explain the different capabilities of
the various NeXT computer setups.  As you can tell, I know next to
nothing about the NeXT system.
