Public Service Announcement: Because I found the fan noise of the NSTC to be a minor nuisance, I recently got myself a 13W3-male-to-female 10' cable extender from InMac's (Sun division) for about $140. This allows me to also put my external harddisks further away from my work-place, further reducing the noise level I am exposed to. Neither the image on my monitor, nor the ADB keyboard appears to have been adversely affected. Although I am not accepting any responsibility if you try this, too, it has worked for both me and Karl Reuss (thanks Karl for trying this first), despite NeXT's suggestion that one should not do this. /ivo
