The Mail.app API has been enhanced for 3.0 to avoid this problem (which is  
pretty nice considering that the old one was an undocumented feature) but  
contrary to an amount of previous opinion, apps need to be modified to take  
advantage of it.

I recently obtained the latest version of NewsGrazer (72.3), and I just checked  
to see if this problem has gone away. It hasn't.
