I just noticed something strange and I wonder if anyone can explain it to me. Ordinarily I leave my modem turned on all of the time. Yesterday, for some reason I switched it off and I noticed a real slowdown. Scrolling text became very jerky and backspace ran at a very slow speed. Switching the modem back on immediately returned things to normal. Anyone know why? I am running 3.0 on a mono slab (pre-turbo) with a USRobotics 14.4 kbaud dual standard modem. -- ----------------------------------- Mike Hopkins mjh@math.mit.edu -----------------------------------
