I'm frankly astonished by how many people were interested
enough in login panel tiffs to ftp my collection.  It seems
to interest a lot of people.  That being the case
(apparently), I guess some feedback on these would be of
interest to me.  

From a design point of view, the greatest limitations of the
present regime are that the loginwindow.app does not
recognize alpha (anyone know why?) and that the positions of
the two text windows wrt to the lower left corner are
constants.  It seems to me these four numbers could as well
be accessible in the defaults database.

At a minimum, NeXT could make the full source of the app
available; if one had access to that, diddling the nib
should be an easy matter.  I realize that invites some
obvious perils, but they are hardly greater than many others
lurking about on any Unix machine.  What's a few anguished
cries for help, more or less, among friends?
