Thanks to the good offices of Karl Kraft (karl@ensuing.com),
ScenePatch.app.tar.Z is now available for anonymous ftp
(sorry, no mail server service) from yak.macc.wisc.edu
[144.92.30.18], in directory pub/next/scene.

Assuming you have already done the good thing for Icon.app
from NS2.1 using IconPatch (q.v.) and therefore have your
(large) shared libraries from 2.1 in the right place, fixing
Scene to work under 3.0 is dirt-simple: you drag and drop
the icon of the unpatched Scene onto the ScenePatch.app's
panel and zip! all's well. I gave it try, worked like a
champ.

Bravos to Karl, he's my current hero. But be aware that I'm
fickle; my hero is always the person who's done the most for
me *lately*! :-)

In response to suggestions received from several quarters
that I create a submissions directory on yak, sorry, no can
do. I'm getting short on disk space myself, so I have to
confine it a few specialized items.

I feel sorry for the person (I think it's a student
volunteer) at sonata who has to maintain things there. It's
clearly badly hosed at the moment. Also, I discovered this
morning that the copy of ScenePatch.app at cs.orst.edu is
also hosed (no executable inside there), though Karl will
probably have fixed that by the time you see this.

While I'm at it: things you can find on my machine include
the latest C-Kermit, the latest Elm mail user agent, my
login tiff collection, some documentation on Icon (but I'm
in the process of improving that, I hope), and a few other
things.

Here's hoping 1993 is the greatest year ever for NeXT and
NeXT users. In any case, get safely through the coming
night. The best to you and yours.
