Hi,

in my configuration of tcsh typing man always shows exit (1) at the end.
Can this be avoided.

try
  unset printexitvalue
check if it is set in your .tcshrc if that is the problem (it may not be)
the latest tcsh is available at sonata.cc.purdue.edu in the submissions directory
its version 6.03
