Subprocess and tip/telnet

I have a problem in getting tip and telnet to work correctly with the
"Subprocess" object from the Subprocess demo in NextDeveloper/Examples
directory (BTW - many thanks to those who pointed out where to look
for the thing!!!). My problems are :

1. When telnet is run, things "sort of" work - but telnet seems to
be doing a local echo and typed characters appear twice.

2. When tip is run, tip starts up and dials out OK but once the
connection is received, just sits there......

Any help would be much appreciated.
