We have several different command line tools that read/write tiffs and some of our internal file

foramts. We want to let the WindowServer do as much of the work for us as we can get away with. We have written tools to do this. The problem is that we are not able to run these tools in the background with no one logged in because we cannot get a WindowServer connection. Is there a way to have the WindowServer be public while the Login window is on the monitor? If so, can

we make the WindowServer public at all times so that as people log in and out, our background tools that use the WindowServer are not affected?
