Okay, here's what I'm working the situation is. I'm working on a daemon that watches the serial port, ie: /dev/ttyb. I'm trying to use the SerialSolutions package which has a method for adding the tty to the list of things that DPS will look to for events. However, I have to have an actual NeXTSTEP program, via [NXApp run] in order to accomplish this. I was hoping that I could create an application object, not do the -run method, but set up my own loop to get events (just timer events, and events from the tty doing something). I looked into it, but don't have enough expertise to know if it's possible. I'm hoping someone out there does. -doug
