In article <1992Dec19.014103.28938@u.washington.edu> zeno@phylo.genetics.washington.edu (Sean Lamont) writes: One thing that I think would be REALLY useful would be a "Group in arbitrary view" function which would encapsuluate both of the above, plus be more extensible. Sean T. Lamont ------- More general than that would be to specify the actual subclass of any view. So the grouping operation would simply wrap the selected views in a general superview of class View, and then you could specify the desired subclass of that superview. Also, a Button view could be subclassed to MyButton without having to provide a palette for it and custom inspector. If you want to discuss interface builder ideas like this, I encourage you to join the ibex mailing list (gnu-objc-ibex-request@gnu.ai.mit.edu). Ibex will be a portable, extensible interface builder, and copylefted source will be included. Dan LaLiberte liberte@cs.uiuc.edu (Join the League for Programming Freedom: lpf@uunet.uu.net)
