Problems with built-in LZW image compression code

Help! It seems LZW image compression under 2.1 is faulty. I have
encountered several images that won't reopen when saved using LZW,
like so:

    [bitmap writeTIFF:s usingCompression:NX_TIFF_COMPRESSION_LZW
        andFactor:10.0];

I get messages like so:

    TIFF Error: LZWDecode: Not enough data for scanline 259 (decode 1249
bytes).

Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, please tell me there's a
patch for this under 2.1.

Please e-mail me at dylan@angst.com,
thanks in advance.

P.S. Has anyone else noticed JPEG under 2.1 has problems saving
images with large regions of pure red in them? It changes it to green.
