I seem to have caused a _huge_ number of people to think I was abusing
some poor soul who is an obvious beginner in postscript programming
(read the sender of both messages - and how could I know his problem was
with his postscript when he never posted it?).  That beginner is _me_,
and I was forgetting to put a "showpage" statement at the end of each
page, thus nothing came out of the printer.     

All you flamers can relax now.  Thanx to many others who sent in helpful
replies - sorry I didn't debug my original code better.  lpr(1) works
just fine to print _correct_ postscript files.  :-)
