charlie@phoenix.az.stratus.com (Charles_Spitzer), quoting Tim Wasko  
<tim@dogcow.cuc.ab.ca>, was quick to point out that OpenPanel now  
implements -chooseDirectories:(BOOL)flag, which makes the whole thing  
moot.

Much to my shame, it's even mentioned in the AppKit release notes, which I  
thought I'd committed to memory...

Anyway, thanks to all for setting me straight.
